The Boiler Room hits local turf in Durban, South Africa

Writer's picture: Kate SeverinoKate Severino

Trendy warehouses are claiming fame locally and The Boiler Room is one such cafe @boiler_room_cafe.

I am always apt to suss out a new vibe on the Durban scene. This hidden gem, situated behind the white walls of the old Lion Match Factory on 892 Umgeni Road is worth a lunch or coffee date [opens early, closes at 15:30].

Indulging in cappuccinos and their Steak, Halloumi and Biltong Butter Salad, accompanied by Pulled Pork Quesadillas (richer option) happened. I have yet to try the exotic flavoured milkshakes, from Red Velvet to Popcorn and Salted Caramel BUT will be back to try them (cheat/treat day)!

You're crushing it Boilers! Locals, here's their menu.
